The counselling for admission into Medical Colleges will start on July 20. The Registrar of NTR University of Health Sciences, Dr T Venugopala Rao, formally released the counseling schedule here on Thursday for the candidates who qualified in the 2012 EAMCET.
He said that the first round of counseling would be held till July 27 at JNTU Campus in Hyderabad, Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, SV University at Tirupathi and the University administrative campus in Vijayawada. The counseling would be held online simultaneously, he said. The rank holders from 1 to 900 have to attend the counseling on the first day, July 20, followed by 901 to 2400 rankers on July 21, 2401 to 5000 rankers on July 22 and 5001 to 7000 rankers on July 23.
The counselling for the reservation candidates would start from July 24. The counseling would be held to fill 2050 medical seats in 14 government medical colleges and 3050 seats in 22 private medical colleges, besides 1830 seats under the EAMCET convener quota. In addition to this, the private medical colleges would also fill the newly-sanctioned 400 additional seats cleared by the Medical Council of India this year. Similarly, in the BDS section, the counseling would be held to fill 180 seats in the three dental colleges and 1450 seats in 16 private dental colleges, besides six seats from the Army Dental College in Secunderabad.
